The starting signal
I'm Julia, and I come from a small village in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Lockdown hobby goes wild!
I caught the roller skating fever in mid-2020, and it really took off from there.
Since then, I've learned some cool tricks and moves and have already had the opportunity to teach roller skating to many people.
In 2018, I traveled around the world, visiting Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. When I returned to Germany in March 2020 and the lockdown started, I discovered some amazing roller skaters on Instagram and immediately ordered my own pair of roller skates.
The 365 Days Challenge
In the beginning, it all started with the 365 Days Challenge – skating every day for a whole year.
Of course, that didn't last too long; the German weather just didn’t want to cooperate with me.
Well, I still somehow managed to skate a lot, and it turned into a real passion.
I just love being outside, learning something new, and feeling the thrill when landing a new trick. But the best part of it all was the community – how easily you can meet amazing new people.
The move to Amsterdam
In August, I moved to Amsterdam for work. There, I skated in huge skateparks and met many jam skaters. Thanks to them, I started dancing to music on roller skates.
There’s hardly anything as liberating as skating to music with good friends in a park on a sunny day. It makes you forget about everyday life and brings an incredible amount of joy!
The first tutorials, Chaya and SkaMiDan
In August 2020, I filmed my first tutorials for beginners, and after a few weeks, Chaya noticed me. By October, I was already signed by Chaya.
Since May, I am also proud to be a team skater here at SkaMiDan.
At SkaMiDan, you'll find lots of videos of me showcasing a variety of roller skating tricks. You'll also find detailed and in-depth roller skating tutorials both here and on YouTube.
I simply love filming tutorials and sharing how I learned new tricks and moves. To be honest, I was the only one on roller skates in my village for about six months.
That’s why I’m even more excited to see that more and more people are getting into roller skating!
A little background
Maybe a little more about me and what I do outside of skating.
In January 2017, I completed my degree in Fashion Business Management, and afterward, I worked for a major fashion retailer as a Social Media & Marketing Cooperator.
Since 2025 – and even in the years before – I have been working as a Social Media & Content Manager.
Instagram and social media are totally my thing. I really enjoy creating cool photos and videos.
That’s enough about me – Happy Skating!
