Julia Göke – Skate Team

I'm Julia, and I'm from a small village in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Lockdown hobby goes wild!

I caught the roller skating fever in mid-2020, and it completely took over.

Since then, I’ve learned some awesome tricks and moves and have already had the chance to teach roller skating to many people.

Profile

1. Year of Birth:

1994

2. When did I start skating?

Mid-2020

3. Personal motto:

"Fashion girl on skates" sums it up pretty well.

4. Why SkaMiDan?

„To teach as many people as possible how to roller skate.

Together, we create detailed tutorials that everyone can follow.”

5. Why do I skate for SkaMiDan?

Daniel is just as crazy about skating as we are, and that makes it something special.

We all want to infect others with our passion, and that's what makes this team so great.

6. Skate disciplines:

  • Park Roller Skating
  • Jam Roller Skating

7. Which skate discipline do I feel most comfortable with?

By now, I definitely feel more comfortable dancing on skates than being in a skatepark.

You can just go with the flow, listen to music, and enjoy super chill skate sessions.

Of course, it's even more fun in a group when we come up with cool choreographies together.

8. Favorite skate spots:

There are quite a few, but I love skating in parks with lots of greenery and smooth ground – the perfect conditions for a great session. :D

9. Greatest achievement in skating?

I actually filmed a TV commercial in Basel, Switzerland, which was a lot of fun.

10. Inspiration:

I look up to many skaters, like Barbiepatin, who absolutely rocks the skatepark.

In jam skating, it's definitely Neonkeon – total „fangirl moment." Every move looks super easy (which it absolutely isn't). :D

11. Which trick impresses me the most?

Seeing someone do a backflip out of a bowl – absolutely crazy! (Park Roller Skating)

12. Dream trick(s):

  • One Foot Spin (Jam Roller Skating)

13. Favorite trick(s):

  • Crazy Legs (Jam Roller Skating)

14. Favorite skate brand(s):

  • Chaya

15. Favorite skate(s):

  • Chaya Barbiepatin

16. Skate goal:

To develop my own skate.

17. Music while skating:

  • RnB
  • Old-school hip hop

18. What motivates me?

Getting better but also unwinding.

Skating is the best hobby to clear your mind and get those endorphins flowing.

19. My tips and skate hacks for other skaters:

Baby steps are still progress – by practicing regularly, anyone can do it. Even the pros fall sometimes! ;)

20. My first skate when I started:

It was a white heel skate, relatively cheap, and it broke after just a month.

21. Favorite movie or series:

The list is endless, but one of my absolute favorites is definitely Harry Potter.

22. Favorite food:

Chocolate counts, too!

23. Do I enjoy other things besides skating?

I admire people who love spending hours in the kitchen cooking.

I enjoy cooking too, but not necessarily for three hours straight. :D

24. Do I have other hobbies besides skating?

I love yoga and DIY projects – whether it’s painting, sewing, knitting, or even building furniture.

25. Fun fact / personal:

I traveled for 2.5 years and had dreadlocks for a year. It was wild but cool. :D

Let me know if you need any changes or improvements! 😊

The starting signal

I'm Julia, and I come from a small village in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Lockdown hobby goes wild!

I caught the roller skating fever in mid-2020, and it really took off from there.

Since then, I've learned some cool tricks and moves and have already had the opportunity to teach roller skating to many people.

In 2018, I traveled around the world, visiting Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. When I returned to Germany in March 2020 and the lockdown started, I discovered some amazing roller skaters on Instagram and immediately ordered my own pair of roller skates.

The 365 Days Challenge

In the beginning, it all started with the 365 Days Challenge – skating every day for a whole year.

Of course, that didn't last too long; the German weather just didn’t want to cooperate with me.

Well, I still somehow managed to skate a lot, and it turned into a real passion.

I just love being outside, learning something new, and feeling the thrill when landing a new trick. But the best part of it all was the community – how easily you can meet amazing new people.

The move to Amsterdam

In August, I moved to Amsterdam for work. There, I skated in huge skateparks and met many jam skaters. Thanks to them, I started dancing to music on roller skates.

There’s hardly anything as liberating as skating to music with good friends in a park on a sunny day. It makes you forget about everyday life and brings an incredible amount of joy!

The first tutorials, Chaya and SkaMiDan

In August 2020, I filmed my first tutorials for beginners, and after a few weeks, Chaya noticed me. By October, I was already signed by Chaya.

Since May, I am also proud to be a team skater here at SkaMiDan.

At SkaMiDan, you'll find lots of videos of me showcasing a variety of roller skating tricks. You'll also find detailed and in-depth roller skating tutorials both here and on YouTube.

I simply love filming tutorials and sharing how I learned new tricks and moves. To be honest, I was the only one on roller skates in my village for about six months.

That’s why I’m even more excited to see that more and more people are getting into roller skating!

A little background

Maybe a little more about me and what I do outside of skating.

In January 2017, I completed my degree in Fashion Business Management, and afterward, I worked for a major fashion retailer as a Social Media & Marketing Cooperator.

Since 2025 – and even in the years before – I have been working as a Social Media & Content Manager.

Instagram and social media are totally my thing. I really enjoy creating cool photos and videos.

That’s enough about me – Happy Skating!

My favorite skate disciplines
