I was born in Neuss in 2011 and discovered my passion for skating at an early age.
I started with ice hockey, but in 2017, inspired by my father, I switched to aggressive inline skating. My talent quickly led me to competitions, and in 2020, at just 8 years old, I participated in Winterclash – as one of the youngest competitors ever.
That same year, I received full sponsorship from SkaMiDan, and since 2021, I have also been a team rider for ENNUi, a subsidiary of Powerslide. My biggest sporting achievement so far was securing third place at the EFISE Junior Hotwheels competition in 2021, where I became the best European in my category.
My goal is to show others – whether kids or adults – how versatile, fun, and healthy skating is. Everyone is welcome because, in the end, it's all about having fun!
The starting signal
Hi, my name is Jakob. I was born in 2011 in beautiful Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia and am a proud team rider at SkaMiDan.
As soon as I learned to walk, I started doing sports, and ever since I first stood on inline skates, I’ve mostly had my sports equipment on my feet – and if it were up to me, I’d never take them off!
In the winter of 2015, when I was just 5 years old, I started playing ice hockey, which is still a great passion.
The very first inline skates
In the spring of 2017, I got my first pair of inline skates. That summer, I gave inline hockey a try, and my dad took me to a skatepark for the first time. Inline hockey quickly became a thing of the past because I much preferred spending every free minute at the skatepark.
My dad, a former aggressive inline skater and ice hockey coach himself, was able to teach me the basics quickly. That was the moment I fell in love with the sport of aggressive inline skating!
My first aggressive inline skates
In May 2019 I got my first aggressive inline skates, the USD Kids Transformers, and that's how I got in touch with Daniel! Daniel was always there to help and advise us right from the start, and that's how I got in touch with SkaMiDan!
A brief overview
A lot has happened since then:
- In February 2020, at just 8 years old, I participated in Winterclash. I was one of the youngest competitors ever to take part in the event! Winterclash is considered the unofficial world championship of aggressive inline skating.
- Then, in May 2020, a big moment arrived. Daniel, the founder and owner of SkaMiDan, made me an offer for full sponsorship. That was it—I said yes, and since then, I’ve been part of the SkaMiDan team. I was even the first skater Daniel ever offered a sponsorship to! Today, the team has grown, and we’re like a small family, full of joy and passion for skating.
- In March 2021, I was warmly welcomed into the Powerslide family. Since then, I’ve also been a team rider for ENNUi, a subsidiary of Powerslide! The best part? SkaMiDan and Powerslide work closely together, so I now receive double the support!
- In September 2021, I achieved third place at the EFISE Junior Hotwheels competition in the "Roller Boys" category, making me the best European in the Juniors category.
My wishes and goals
My goal: To show many kids, but also adults, how beautiful and exciting our sport can be. I also want to inspire others to simply strap on a pair of skates and give it a try.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s:
- Aggressive Inline Skating
- Fitness Inline Skating
- Off-road Inline Skating
- Urban Inline Skating
- Freestyle Slalom Skating
- Roller Skating
- Park Roller Skating
- Ice Skating
- or something completely different.
Our sport, and skating in general, is incredibly diverse, highly dynamic, and extremely healthy.
No one should worry about whether they are good or bad – having fun is what matters most, and everyone is welcome!
